Mercedes-Benz Shows New DriveStyle App At Google I/O

Mercedes-Benz is taking steps to position itself amongst the automotive technology leaders with help from Google. This week at Google's massive I/O tech convention in San Francisco, Mercedes showed off its new DriveStyle App. Many of the features we're already familiar with, as they come directly from Google.

With the DriveStyle app, drivers can use Google local search and Street View (also currently available on MBRACE2) with live traffic updates. The DriveStyle app runs on the driver's iPhone and data plan. Once a phone is connected to the car, drivers can use the car's display and COMAND controller to interface with the app, just like BMW apps.



Another interesting feature is something Mercedes is calling "Heat Map." It scans the area for the highest concentrations of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs. So if you show up to a new city in your Mercedes, you wont waste your time trying to find fun.

These features will be introduced this year, as part of Mercedes-Benz's DriveStyle app rollout. Consider us excited.
