Mitsubishi Sending Pair Of MiEV Evolution II Electric Race Cars To Pikes Peak

For the uninitiated, Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is an uphill race in Colorado Springs, Colo., featuring over 12 miles of winding roads that ascend toward the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak. The high-elevation course is a great proving ground for performance technology under extreme conditions.

At this year's running, presenting sponsor Mitsubishi will enter two all-new MiEV Evolution II electric race cars, driven by Hiroshi Masuoka and Greg Tracy. Masuoka looks to improve on last year's second place finish in the Electric Vehicle division.



The vehicles feature a 50 kWh battery pack powering four, 100 kW motors--two in the front and two in the rear--making the MiEV Evolution II a four-wheel drive electric vehicle.
