Jamaican citizen Usain Leo Bolt, was born on 21 August 1986, he is commonly known as the fastest man in the world. After the mandate of electronic measurement of the time taken, Usain Bolt The fastest man in the world is the first man along with his teammates to hold both the 100 M and 200 m sprint world records.


He is a records machine:

  • he has the record of 4 X 100 meter .
  • In total 3 events , he is the reigning Olympic champion.
  • The only person on the earth to win 6 Olympic Gold in sprinting.
  • a 5 time World champion.
  • Usain bolt has also achieved a  ”double double” by winning 100 meter and 200 meter titles at consecutive Olympics (2008 and 2012),
  •  and has also topped this through the first “double triple” (including 4×100 m relays).

His 2009 record breaking margin for 100 meter, from  beating his own world record of 9.69 seconds to 9.58 seconds , is the fastest  since the start of fully automatic time measurements.


Usain bolt apart from being nicknamed the fastest man on earth is also called as  ”Lightning Bolt”

and has won many awards and titles including awards including the I.A.A.F. World Athlete of the YearTrack & Field Athlete of the Year, and 2 times X Laureus Sportsman of the Year .

Even before the olympics usain bolt was know for having two records and  winning 3 gold medals in I.A.A.F (2009 ) and  World T&F Championships in Berlin, Germany.
Also renowned for his lowering his own record to 9.53. and his 200 m time to 19.19 secs and running the third leg helped Jamaica to gold in the 4×100 m.
Usain Bolt  is currently a very big name in the world of sport.

By 2001 Bolt became a known person and by then the world had noticed him as the fastest man on earth, this was when Usain Bolt cruised to a hand timed 20.3 secs to win the 200 m at Western Champs finals at Catherine Hall.


Later that year Usain Bolt went on to win both 200 meter and 400 meter double at CARIFTA Trials this was before winning another four golds at a meet held in Nassau, Bahamas.

usain then showed the world his talent at the I.A.A.F. World Junior T&F Championships in Kingston in front of the biggest crowd ever to watch these meets,
Usain Bolt won the host nation’s only individual gold medal, winning the 200 m in 20.61 secs.  Usain Bolt left that meet with 3 medals in total including 2 silver in the relays, anchoring the 4×100 m team and was part of the 4×400 m team as

2007 was the breakthrough for Usain  in that year he broke the 200 m Record which had not beaten 30 years, this record was held by the great Donald Quarrie, with a time of 19.75 secs to win the Jamaican Senior T&F Championships.
Usain Bolt, again broke a record in 2008 and become the fastest man in the world.  Usain broke the record with a time of 9.72 secs in New York in the 100 meter sprint.
