The Bimota DB5 E Desiderio offers a perfect combination of comfort and speed. The company says that it was especially developed “to provide the best platform for sports and general road use”.
As far as design is concerned, the Bimota DB5 E Desiderio has all it needs to be considered an attractive motorcycle. We especially like the tubular chrome-molibdenum steel frame finished in a tasty red paint, the angular fuel tank and the sporty headlights. Not to mention about the aerodynamic fairing and the lightweight OZ aluminium forged wheels.

At the heart of this agile beast lies a 90°L twin cylider, 4 strokes power-plant unit with a capacity of 1078cc. The fuel injected engine cranks out a maximum power of 98 hp at 8500 rpm and 10,5 kgm of torque at 5500 rpm which is more than enough to propel the bike to a maximum speed of 230 kmph.

Overview

Total versatility
The riding position has been developed to provide the best platform for sports and general road use.
The compact size of the bike brings to the rider both manageability and precision.
The lightweight OZ aluminium forged wheels not only look superb, but bring real benefits to the riding dynamics.

Design

It’s been defined a masterpiece of design and allowed Bimota to win the MOTORCYCLE DESIGN AWARD.
The Bimota DB5 is always full on, defined by straight lines and a minimal use of a carbon to guarantee great aerodynamics.
Traditional Bimota colouring combined with the finest materials and craftsmanship show she really is a true signature machine of the rare Italian brand.

Technology

DB5 makes use of a tubular trellis frame made of chrome molybdenum steel, manufactured by the Rimini-based company. It’s finished side plates machined from solid alloy that brings a superior level of agility and riding accuracy.
Same structure for the swing arm, that connects to the trellis via alloy plates machined from solid alloy. Chain adjustment equipment is a work of art.
The engine is a Desmo Evo 90° L twin cylinder with air and oil cooling system by Ducati. It boosts a max power of 100hp. This motor guarantees great levels of usable performance just where and when you desire. The DB5 comes with a very high quality suspension system.
Marzocchi fork for the front and a fully-adjustable mono shock for the rear. The radial Brembo 4 piston calipers and 2x298mm discs provides a perfect brake set up.
