2014 Toyota Corolla debuts at Dubai Motor Show

 

Toyota has unveiled the 2014 Corolla at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. The Gulf Region has got the European rather than the American spec car and is expected go on sale there by March 2014. It will be imported from Taiwan and will be offered only with petrol engines.
The European spec Corolla is based on the Furia concept car but has a much more conservative design than its American counterpart. We have spoken in detail about the vehicle and you can find a link to the story at the bottom of the page.
The Gulf will get two engine options the 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.8-litre petrol both of which will be offered with a six-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. We expect that leather seats, climate control, touchscreen navigation will be a part of the standard package.
The Toyota Corolla has been a popular car in the Middle East for over 30 years now and has gained a lot of fame as a taxi in many countries during this time. The most obvious sign of reliability, it is likely that Toyota will be hoping for another 30 years of success with this car.
In India we could see the car, with the same features, at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and could go on sale by the end of next year.
